Es handelt sich dabei um einen speziellen Holzwerkstoff bzw. Plattenwerkstoff, der in Deutschland als <strong>mitteldichte Faserplatte<\/strong> bezeichnet wird. Die Optik von MDF ist sehr gleichm\u00e4\u00dfig, weshalb MDF gerne im M\u00f6belbau verwendet wird.<\/p>\n<p>MDF Platten zeichnen sich durch geschlossene und homogene Oberfl\u00e4chen aus. Die Schmalfl\u00e4chen von MDF Platten sind dicht und fein. Sie werden im Handel in verschiedenen Dicken bzw. St\u00e4rken angeboten. F\u00fcr spezielle Anwendungen wie z. B. f\u00fcr Rundungen gibt es auch Biege-MDF.<\/p>\n<p>Zu den Vorz\u00fcgen von MDF geh\u00f6rt, dass sich der Holzwerkstoff wie Holz bearbeiten l\u00e4sst. An den Schnittkanten ist es allerdings so, dass diese sehr stark saugen, wenn man die Platte z. B. lackieren will.<\/p>\n<p>Wie bei den Spanwerkstoffen ist es auch bei den Faserwerkstoffen &#8211; wie MDF &#8211; so, dass diese nicht rei\u00dfen, weil sie keine Holzspannung aufweisen.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div class=\"responsive-video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Bk5LkV0Pdoo\" width=\"682px\" height=\"383px\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><em>Video: DAS solltest du unbedingt \u00fcber MDF wissen! | Plattenwerkstoffe einfach erkl\u00e4rt | Jonas Winkler <\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Wie wird MDF hergestellt?<\/h2>\n<p>Die Rohstoffgrundlage f\u00fcr die Fertigung von MDF bilden fein zerspante Fasern der Korkeiche und\/oder von amerikanischen Nadelh\u00f6lzern. In der Regel stammt dieses Holz aus Verschnitt, welcher bei Durchforstungen anf\u00e4llt, so dass zur Herstellung von MDF nicht extra B\u00e4ume gef\u00e4llt werden. Die Holzfasern werden dann mit einem Kunstharzleim unter Druck zur Platte verpresst und getrocknet.<\/p>\n<p>In diesem Zusammenhang ist erw\u00e4hnenswert, dass es verschiedene Qualit\u00e4tsstufen bei der Verleimung von Holzplatten gibt:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IF 20 &#8211; gew\u00f6hnliche Verleimung<\/li>\n<li>IF 67 &#8211; feuchtigkeitsbest\u00e4ndige Verleimung<\/li>\n<li>AW 100 &#8211; wasserbest\u00e4ndige Verleimung<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MDF Platten werden in der Regel so behandelt, dass sie <strong>feuchtigkeitsabweisend<\/strong> und nur <strong>schwer entflammbar<\/strong> sind.<\/p>\n<h2>Wie unterscheiden sich MDF Platten von Spanplatten?<\/h2>\n<p>Grunds\u00e4tzlich bestehen auch die MDF Platten &#8211; wie die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wohnen-shop.at\/lexikon\/spanplatte\/\">Spanplatten<\/a> &#8211; aus Holzschnitzeln. Bei MDF werden nur rindenfreie Holzschnitzel vewendet und diese im Vergleich zu den Holzschnitzeln in der Spanplattenherstellung wesentlich feiner aufgefasert bzw. feinst zerfasert, bevor die Verleimung zur Platte unter Druck stattfindet.<\/p>\n<h2>Wof\u00fcr wird MDF verwendet?<\/h2>\n<p>MDF Platten sind sauber zuschneidbar und sehr vielseitig verwendbar. So eignet sich MDF z. B. optimal f\u00fcr die ornamentale Gestaltung von M\u00f6belfronten, da es sich einfach und sehr gut bearbeiten l\u00e4sst.<\/p>\n<p>Sehr oft kommt MDF als Tr\u00e4gerplatte im M\u00f6bel- und K\u00fcchenbau zum Einsatz. Aufgrund ihrer sehr gleichm\u00e4\u00dfigen Oberfl\u00e4che, ist das Aufbringen einer Lackierung auf MDF Platten n\u00e4mlich problemlos m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n<p>Wer selbst etwas aus MDF bauen will, sollte dazu auf hartmetallbest\u00fcckte Werkzeuge zur\u00fcckgreifen.
