Polypropylen<\/p><\/div>\n

Bei Polypropylen<\/strong> handelt es sich um einen thermoplastischen Kunststoff<\/strong>, welcher durch Kettenpolymerisation von Propen hergestellt wird. Propen<\/strong> ist ein brennbares und farbloses Gas. Thermoplastisch<\/strong> bedeutet, dass sich dieser Kunststoff bei einer bestimmten Temperatur verformen l\u00e4sst. Es handelt sich dabei um einen reversiblen Vorgang, das hei\u00dft, der Vorgang kann beliebig oft durch beispielweise Abk\u00fchlen, wiederholt werden.<\/p>\n

Erstmals wurde Polypropylen 1954<\/strong> in den Farbwerken H\u00f6chst in Frankfurt synthetisiert, doch erst 1957<\/strong> patentierte Giulio Natta vom Politecnico di Milano den Kunststoff. Polypropylen, kurz PP<\/strong>, ist inzwischen der zweitwichtigste Kunststoff der Welt. Ungef\u00e4hr zwei Drittel des weltweit hergestellten Propens werden f\u00fcr die Produktion von Polypropylen verwendet.<\/p>\n

Die Eigenschaften von Polypropylen<\/h2>\n

Polypropylen hat eine geringe<\/strong> Dichte<\/strong>. Es ist sehr widerstandsf\u00e4hig<\/strong> gegen Erm\u00fcdung, daher wird es zum Beispiel f\u00fcr verschiedene Scharniere verwendet. Polypropylen hat eine gro\u00dfe W\u00e4rmedehnung<\/strong>, so kann es zwischen 0 und 100 Grad genutzt werden. Polypropylenfasern<\/strong> sind leichter als Wasser und nehmen dadurch praktisch keine Feuchtigkeit auf. Durch die hohe Oberfl\u00e4chenspannung werden Feuchtigkeit und Schwei\u00df schnell nach au\u00dfen abgeleitet.<\/p>\n

PP ist geruchlos<\/strong>, hautvertr\u00e4glich<\/strong>, physiologisch unbedenklich und wird auch bei Medizinprodukten und Sporttextilien verwendet. Zudem ist Polypropylen die leichteste handels\u00fcbliche Faser. Aufgrund seiner Hautvertr\u00e4glichkeit und Wasserabweisung ist Polypropylen ideal geeignet f\u00fcr Matratzen-Bez\u00fcge.<\/p>\n

Anwendungsbereiche von Polypropylen<\/h2>\n

Polypropylen wird wegen seiner Eigenschaften in unterschiedlichen Bereichen angewandt. Es wird f\u00fcr die Innenausstattung<\/strong> von PKW’s genutzt. Hier wird es zum Beispiel f\u00fcr Armaturenbretter oder Geh\u00e4use von Batterien verwendet. In der Elektrotechnik<\/strong> wird Polypropylen f\u00fcr Ummantelungen von Dr\u00e4hten oder Kabeln gebraucht. Auch im Bauwesen<\/strong> kommt Polypropylen zum Einsatz. Hier wird es f\u00fcr Fittinge oder Rohrleitungen genutzt, im Betonbau<\/strong> werden Polypropylenfasern dem Beton zugemischt, sodass Brandschutzanforderungen erf\u00fcllt werden.<\/p>\n

Auch in der Textilindustrie<\/strong> findet Polypropylen seine Verwendung. Es wird als Garn verwendet und ist zum Beispiel in Heimtextilien, Teppichen<\/a>, Sporttextilien oder Geotextilien zu finden. Polypropylen wird zudem f\u00fcr Bez\u00fcge<\/strong> von Kissen, Decken oder Matratzen genutzt. Doch auch in ganz anderen Bereichen findet Polypropylen Verwendung. Eine weitere Verwendung von Polypropylen ist beispielsweise in Geldscheinen zu finden. L\u00e4nder mit eher feuchtem Klima wie Australien oder Neuseelad sind dazu \u00fcbergegangen Ihre Banknoten aus Polypropylen (PP) zu fertigen, um die Haltbarkeit zu erh\u00f6hen.<\/p>\n
