Der Name leitet sich von dem franz\u00f6sischen Begriff Molleton ab und hei\u00dft \u00fcbersetzt so viel wie weiches Baumwollgewebe. Die <strong>Einsatzbereiche f\u00fcr Molton<\/strong> sind breit gef\u00e4chert, von der Matratzenauflage \u00fcber die Tischunterlage bis hin zum B\u00fchnenvorhang.<\/p>\n<p>Im Bereich der Bettwaren und in der Gastronomie verwendet man wei\u00dfen oder beigen Molton, w\u00e4hrend im Eventbereich eher schwarzer benutzt wird. Als Matratzenauflage (Molton Auflage) oder Bettauflage (zum Beispiel als Inkontinenz Bettauflage) wird der Molton zum Schutz vor Verschmutzung der Matratze eingesetzt. Als <strong>Tischunterlage<\/strong> soll der Moltonstoff verhindern, dass die Tischdecke auf dem Tisch verrutscht. Tischmolton hat auf der Oberseite meist noch eine Weichschaumpr\u00e4gung, die zum einen vor Fl\u00fcssigkeit sch\u00fctzen soll, aber auch den Aufschlag von umkippenden Gl\u00e4sern d\u00e4mpfen soll. Im Theater wird Moltonstoff als <strong>blickdichter Vorhang<\/strong> genutzt, der zus\u00e4tzlich der Schalld\u00e4mmung dient.<\/p>\n<h2>Wie wird Molton hergestellt?<\/h2>\n<p>Die Herstellung von Moltongewebe ist sehr aufw\u00e4ndig. Die Bindungsart f\u00fcr Molton \u00e4ndert sich mit dem gew\u00fcnschten Materialgewicht. Leichte Moltonstoffe bis ca. 190 g\/m\u00b2 werden in <strong>Leinwandbindung<\/strong> angefertigt und die Schwereren in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wohnen-shop.at\/lexikon\/koeperbindung\/\"><strong>K\u00f6perbindung<\/strong><\/a>. Matratzenauflagen aus Molton wiegen bis zu 470 g\/m\u00b2.<\/p>\n<p>Molton gilt als sehr strapazierf\u00e4hig, da er sehr dicht gewebt wird. Au\u00dferdem wird Moltonstoff auf beiden Seiten aufgeraut, was ihn flauschig weich macht. <strong>Verschiedene Veredlungsprozesse<\/strong> geben dem Molton den letzten Schliff. Vor allem im Theaterbereich arbeitet man zum Beispiel mit schwer entflammbar ausger\u00fcstetem Stoff.<\/p>\n<h2>Wie w\u00e4scht man Molton?<\/h2>\n<p>Wenn der Molton keine besondere Impr\u00e4gnierung hat, wie es bei Theatermolton der Fall sein kann, ist er sogar <strong>bei 95 Grad waschbar<\/strong>. Diese Eigenschaft ist besonders gut f\u00fcr Matratzenauflagen oder das Molton Spannbetttuch geeignet, denn bei dieser Waschtemperatur ist garantiert, dass keine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wohnen-shop.at\/lexikon\/hausstaubmilben\/\">Milben<\/a> \u00fcberleben k\u00f6nnen. F\u00fcr Allergiker ist das eine sehr wichtige Eigenschaft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trocknen im Trommeltrockner<\/strong> bei geringer thermischer Beanspruchung stellt meist auch kein Problem dar.
