Batist<\/p><\/div>\n

Batist<\/strong> ist ein Textil in Leinwandbindung<\/a>, das aus Baumwolle<\/a>, Seide<\/a>, Leinen<\/a> oder Polyester<\/a> angefertigt werden kann. Der Stoff ist feinf\u00e4dig, dicht gewebt und leicht<\/strong>. Woher der Name Batist kommt ist nicht ganz gekl\u00e4rt. Eine M\u00f6glichkeit w\u00e4re die Ableitung von dem franz\u00f6sischen Leinweber Jean Baptist aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Dieser soll ein Textil hergestellt haben, das von der Art her an den Batist erinnert. Eine andere Erkl\u00e4rung w\u00e4re die Herleitung von dem indischen Wort Baftas<\/em>, was f\u00fcr wei\u00dfen Kattun<\/a> steht. Kattun ist ein glattes, sehr dichtes Baumwollgewebe das dem Batist \u00e4hnelt.<\/p>\n

Wegen seiner luftigen Leichtigkeit<\/strong> wird Batist gerne f\u00fcr Kinderkleidung, Kleider und Blusen verwendet, aber auch f\u00fcr Dekostoffe und Schals. Stoffe aus Batist k\u00f6nnen in jeder Farbe hergestellt werden, ob uni oder gemustert. Zu den Batistarten geh\u00f6rt eine gro\u00dfe Gruppe an Geweben wie Noppenbatist, Organdy, Seidenbatist, Glasbatist, Zefir, Voile und Opal.<\/p>\n

Was f\u00fcr Eigenschaften hat Batist?<\/h2>\n

Wie erw\u00e4hnt sticht Batist heraus, weil er sehr leicht und d\u00fcnn<\/strong> ist, aber trotzdem dicht gewebt und fest<\/strong>. Das nahezu durchscheinende Gewebe liegt sehr zart<\/strong> auf der Haut und f\u00fchlt sich angenehm an. Das Textil kann gebleicht und bedruckt werden, was es zu einem guten Material f\u00fcr Bettw\u00e4sche macht. Der Kreativit\u00e4t sind dabei keine Grenzen gesetzt. Spricht man von Mako-Batist<\/a>, wurde bei der Herstellung nur reine \u00e4gyptische Mako-Baumwolle verwendet. Mako-Zefir<\/strong> ist ein bunt gewebter Batist.<\/p>\n

Werden f\u00fcr die Herstellung sowohl k\u00fcnstliche als auch nat\u00fcrliche Fasern verwendet, zum Beispiel Baumwolle und Polyester, dann spricht man vom Schweizer-Batist<\/strong>.
