Was ist Antimon?<\/h1>\n

Antimon<\/p><\/div>\n

Antimon (Sb) ist ein seltenes chemisches Element<\/strong>, das dem einen oder anderen aus dem Periodensystem der Elemente bekannt sein d\u00fcrfte. Antimon wird im Periodensystem mit Sb abgek\u00fcrzt, weil eine andere lateinische Bezeichnung f\u00fcr das Halbmetall Stibium ist.<\/p>\n

In der Natur gibt es nur selten Antimon Vorkommen<\/strong>. Bis jetzt wurde es ca. an 300 Standorten weltweit verzeichnet. In Deutschland kommt es zum Beispiel im Harzgebirge vor.<\/p>\n

Woher kommen die unterschiedlichen Namen? Es gibt eine Erz\u00e4hlung, bei der ein deutscher M\u00f6nch beobachtete, wie Schweine nach dem Verzehr von Antimon fetter wurden. Daraufhin mischte der M\u00f6nch das Halbmetall unter die Nahrung seiner Ordensbr\u00fcder, die daran leider verstarben und es entwickelte sich der Begriff antim\u00f6nchisch. Mit der Zeit wurde daraus Antimon. Man k\u00f6nnte es aber auch einfach von den griechischen Begriffen<\/strong> Anti und Monos ableiten, dann w\u00fcrde es so viel bedeuten wie nicht allein.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr was wird Antimon verwendet?<\/h2>\n

In der Chemie wird Antimon f\u00fcr Legierungen mit anderen Metallen<\/a> verschmolzen. In der Medizin wurde es fr\u00fcher als Brechmittel<\/strong> eingesetzt. Heute wird es am Menschen in den meisten L\u00e4ndern nicht mehr verwendet. Antimon ist Bestandteil im Z\u00fcndkopf von Streichh\u00f6lzern oder Sprengstoffz\u00fcndern. Antimonoxide werden als Flammschutzmittel<\/strong><\/a> verarbeitet, die auf Textilien aufgetragen werden. So gibt es auch Matratzen<\/a> mit einer flammhemmenden Ausr\u00fcstung. Ein Textil darf aber einen Grenzwert von 30 mg\/kg<\/strong> nicht \u00fcberschreiten. Hat Ihre Matratze das \u00d6ko-Tex Standard<\/a> 100 Siegel, dann wurde sie auf den Grenzwert von Antimon gepr\u00fcft und Sie k\u00f6nnen diese bedenkenlos verwenden.<\/p>\n

Wie gef\u00e4hrlich ist Antimon?<\/h2>\n

Antimon in seiner elementaren Form wird nur als reizend eingestuft. Besonders Antimonstaub wirkt reizend f\u00fcr die Augen und Schleimh\u00e4ute<\/strong>, trotzdem haben es die \u00c4gypter zum Beispiel als schwarzen Lidschatten genutzt.<\/p>\n

Gef\u00e4hrlich werden erst die verschiedenen Antimonverbindungen<\/strong>, die auch als gesundheitssch\u00e4dlich und umweltgef\u00e4hrlich eingeordnet sind. Da die Verbindungen fast immer mit gef\u00e4hrlichen Substanzen wie Blei und Arsen vorkommen, kann die toxische Ursache von Antimon alleine nicht genau bestimmt werden.<\/p>\n

Achten Sie beim Matratzenkauf also auf das \u00d6ko-Tex Standard Zertifikat Textiles Vertrauen, welches nur ausgezeichnet wird, wenn der Antimon Grenzwert im Material nicht \u00fcberschritten wird, sofern \u00fcberhaupt Antimon vorhanden ist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
